I was in the market of a contractor to do an extension to my home in Mililani Mauka. The renovation was approximately 800 square feet. The build included a new bedroom, renovation of a half bath into a full bath, a den area, extending the existing family room, and a covered patio.

After getting estimates from friends in the construction industry, who did side jobs on weekends and contractors that were referred by friends, I decided to check out Yelp because I was not satisfied with the completed time and overall estimate. Because of the great reviews, I contacted Maika'i Construction. From the start, I had a good feeling about this local braddah. He was professional, easy to talk to and very accommodating. Maika'i Construction estimate was reasonable and fair compared to other estimates I received.

Overall, I was very pleased with Maika'i Construction. I am a very detailed individual and Maika'i Construction provided me with assurances. Maika'i Construction has a "no worry, I'll take care of it" attitude. And believe me, he's good on his word. He also completed the project before the estimated date of completion and more importantly on budget!!! His crew are very hard workers and respectful. They work six days a week and completed the job in 35 working days. Even my neighbors commented on how fast construction was completed.

I'm glad I found Maika'i Construction on Yelp. Maika'i Construction will be remodeling my kitchen in the near future.

Maika'i Construction provided us with a great renovation experience from start to finish. Our condo in Kakaako needed a full kitchen renovation, as well as refinishing of all ceilings, walls and floors. Maika"i Construction completed our extensive project at a reasonable and very fair price. We were living on Maui at the time so the arrangement was long-distance. Maika'i Construction was always agreeable and responsive which made the entire process that much more positive. He and his crew followed the strict guidelines of our condo - we were impressed by the high caliber of his crew whenever we flew in to Honolulu to view their progress. As former business owners, we have dealt with various construction companies in differing scenarios - we know good work when we "see it". Our kitchen turned out beautifully and thanks to their recommendations & advice, we were happy with the entire outcome. We highly recommend Maika'i Construction.

The team at Maika'i Construction built a beautiful extension to our home (one bedroom, one bath, wet bar and garage).

Our architect recommended Maika'i Construction for our build. Maika'i Construction put together a very reasonable bid for the job, and Maika'i was on budget at every step of the way.

The Maika'i team is extremely professional. These folks care about their work. We were also impressed by how respectful they were of our space (we were living in our home during the addition) and of the neighbors.

This construction team set out a tight timeline, and stuck to the timeline. They moved quickly (we were happy that we had chosen all of our selections in advance!!) and did high quality work (we love the tile work!).

This was the smoothest Reno experience I ever had. Maika'i Construction was super knowledgeable and got the job done with better products than anticipated and he finished days earlier than planned. For trust, I wouldn't recommend anyone else.

I was looking into a full bathroom renovation and decided to do a search on yelp. I came across Maika'i Construction and noticed all the positive reviews and beautiful pictures posted from very happy customers. Deciding to give them a call for an estimate, I met with Maika'i Construction and explained what I wanted. Maika'i Construction is very helpful and easy to talk with. He is prompt in returning calls and text whenever I had a question. Maika'i Construction and his team are top of the line and very professional. Not only did they finish ahead of time but they did an amazing job for a awesome price to boot! I am loving my new bathroom and would definitely look to Maika'i Construction for future projects! This company is a definite referral to friends and family.

Maika'i Construction company just remodeled my entire condo unit in Waikiki. There are countless horror stories when it comes to remodels but the entire process was an absolute joy. Not only was he perfectly on budget, but he finished in WAY less time than he estimated. I was not in town for most of the remodel but he constantly sent pictures and updates to me. I never felt like I was missing anything by not being there.

In the beginning I interviewed 3 construction companies and while doing so I asked to go see current job sites for each of them. This made it very clear that Maika'i Construction and his crew were the ones to pick. They were obviously the most organized and professional. Such a great choice.

Maika'i Construction also did the layout for the entire kitchen (which was a challenge). He sent me dozens of 3D drawings with many revisions. I don't know how he did it but he managed to fit all the things I needed into my tiny tiny kitchen.

My building manager also commented to me how wonderful they were compared to other construction companies who have worked in my building. They were clean and courteous while others tracked dirt through the lobby and left trash in the halls.

And to top it all off Maika'i Construction is a REALLY nice guy!!

Maika'i Construction is the best contractor i've worked with. He remodeled my rental property and did an excellent job. I live out of state and he was great returning calls, texts, emails and working with my property manager. He kept me up to date with each step of the project with pictures and texts. He finished on time and on budget. His quality of work is excellent.
